Code and Intellectual Property
Two questions:
1. If we enhance an existing solution to meet the requirements for this challenge, does that mean that we give
NYP royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, copy, create derivative works, distribute, display and perform the submission, in perpetuity, whether or not a submission is a winner?
2. Will we be required to share the code with NYP? It has taken few years to develop the existing solution we have. Does it mean that NYP will have full access to code?

1). Yes, NYP has rights to all submissions regardless of their outcome as a finalist/winner or not as stated by the rules.
2). Yes. Based upon the terms and conditions of the challenge—NYP will not take your code and turn it into a product that they will then sell.
Per the conditions of the challenge, upon submission NYP will have license to use your code and its likeness to further develop, use or modify for use within the hospital system—they will not commercialize your product.
You and your team, however, maintain the right to the continued use of your code—to modify, commercialize and generally use as you and your team choose.
